Nativity Play

At one Monday meditation in An Tobar we wrote and celebrated the birth of Christ energy within us all.

Angel – friendly, welcoming each at the front door - 'greetings', 'there is goodnews'. Offers each arrival an angel card which carries positive word.

Innkeeper –miserable, grumpy, at room entrance door - all are rejected. 'go away', 'no room in the Inn'

Hillside watchers –all gather in Library, waiting – centre table with angel, animals. Reading from gospel and carol 'while shepherds watched their flocks by night'.

The Call – mobile phone rings – it is a message – 'good news of great joy' - come to the stable – pick up the angel from the table and all process back to the 'Inn'.

Innkeeper has changed demeanor - opens door reverentially – all enter dark room with wrapped babe surrounded by candles.

Silent meditation to angelic music.

3 Kings – circle the room three times, then describe the gifts they carry;

'We bring gold to honour Him as King, and to yield to the purification process of the fiery trials.

We bring frankincense to worship Him even in the midst of our brokenness.

We bring myrrh to recognise that He has identified with us in our pain and sorrow.'

All participate in a healing circle.

17th December 2012 - Treasures and Gifts

(and a great game that got everyone laughing)

We had access to two rooms, Oratory and Labyrinth Room, thus made the evening into a moving pageant.

We gathered in the Oratory and placed gifts on and around the central tree.

Following a star we walked to the Labyrinth Room, collecting Nativity figures from a window ledge as we walked the corridor.

In the Labyrinth room we blessed the Nativity scene and meditated.

Singing Away in a Manger, Silent Night and We Three Kings we walked back to the Oratory.

Here we shared gold, frankinsence and myrrh from Jerusalem, then held a healing circle.

We each took a gift from the tree and the donor shared their story of the gift.

It was then down on hands and knees for a game of tapping the floor in a rhythm few could achieve, but which caused much fun. We ended with a christmas feast of food and drink in the kitchen.

Give up yer aul sins - Little Soul & the Sun

Christmas 2011 -

shared the Nativity story as told in "Give up yer aul sins", a play based on the Little Soul and the Sun (Neal Donald Walshe) ....

and a circle dance, which had to be measured and slow as we all carried candles, to honour our divine centre.

Looking in the Mirror

At the Christmas 2009 meditation we looked into the face of Baby Jesus and saw ourselves, connecting to our own Inner Child. You see the surprise was, when you looked into the crib expecting to see the Baby Jesus, you looked into a mirror.

On Christmas day this verse was shared with me - you may like to use this as a meditation.

When you get what you want in your struggle for self,
And the world makes you King for a Day,
Just go to the mirror and look at yourself,
and see what that face has to say.
For it isn't your father, or mother or wife,
Who judgement upon you must pass,
The fellow whose verdict counts most in your life
Is the one staring back from the glass.
Some people may think you a straight shooting chum
And call you a wonderful guy,
But the man in the glass says your only a bum
If you can't look him straight in the eye.
He's the fellow to please, never mind all the rest,
For he's with you right up to the end,
And you've passed your most dangerous, difficult test,
If the man in the glass is your friend.
You may fool the whole world down the pathway of life,
And get pats on your back as you pass,
But your final reward will be heartache and tears,
If you've cheated the man in the glass.
