Venues, Festivals and Themes - a history
Note: Refer to arrangements announced for each Celebration.
Changes in life-style due to the Covid pandemic mean that folk hesitate to meet face to face in groups and thus not all celebrations are group gatherings.
Wherever we are within the universe we can all celebrate change and acknowledge this by witnessing the continual play between light and dark.
At the start celebrations were focussed on the Hill of Tara.
That has changed over the years as it was felt that we needed to extend our horizons.
Tara Celebration's venues are generally in Meath and the eastern side of Ireland - but there is always the understanding that, as all land is sacred, we do not limit our boundaries and, occasionally, we go wider afield.
In 2019 the Covid pandemic meant restrictions were placed on meetings and the Global Spiritual Wheel came into it's own as we could not always meet face to face.
Autumn Equinox is the last meeting of Tara Celebrations annual cycle - Samhain the conceiving of each new turn of the wheel.
Prior to 2007 there were gatherings but we only have private records of those. To view pictures and reports from 2007 to 2018 please visit the archived site - click here

Maps and descriptions
Faughart -St Brigids Well
A Well dedicated to her sits atop the Hill of Faughart in an old graveyard. This water is piped downhill to the Christianised well head at the Shrine.
As you swing open the heavy metal door crouch low and step through the short passage into another world.
Hill of Tara
Tara is a unique heritage site maintained by the State OPW. Open to the public 24/7.
Hill of Ward - Tlachtga
Did Halloween begin at this mystical site?
Teltown, Loughcrew, Ciaran's Well
All linked to Lughnasadh. The Teltown Games precursor of the modern Olympics, Loughcrew a possible sunset alignment, Ciaran's well and a magical fish.
