2022 - Start of a New World and a New Way - Home
With the current Covid restrictions, and concerns about meetings, we will not hold a face to face gathering... join in with the Global Spiritual Wheel from sunset on 31st January to sunset 1st February 2022.
Joining in at a Distance....... Global Spiritual Wheel
Pat has explained this perfectly:
For those tuning in at a distance a non-denominational, universal lattice of spiritual inter-connecting love.
Bernadette set the theme and people bring in the energies of the past, ancestors and our life foundations that flow into the NOW and the NEW.
Bernadette Mac New Moon and Imbolc ceremony
Hi All, welcome to a double celebration on this new moon on the 1st of February 2022 and it's also St Bridget's day, otherwise known as Imbolc.
The start of spring and all new ideas, new growth, planting new seeds for the summer season and also the new moon - so I invite you to celebrate this double event by calling it
The start of a new world and new way of life -
holding the space for the energy birthing through each and every one of you.
IMBOLC
- A time of big change on so many levels
as we all know by now how our world has changed over the past few years, starting in March 2020. And now we are at a turning point of change,
growth, and our vibration has been lifting even
if we cannot see it. But rest assured we can feel it, and yes, some
things have changed. On the outside we can see with the announcement
of St Bridget's day coming on the 18th of March 2022
bringing a balance of male and female. So let's
talk about Imbolc.
- The celebration of Imbolc dates back to the
pre-Christian era in the British Isles. The earliest mentions of Imbolc
in Irish literature date back to the 10th century. Poetry from that time relates to a holiday to ewes milk,
with the implication it has been speculated that this stems from the
breeding cycle of sheep and the beginning of lactation.
- The holiday was
traditionally aligned with the first day of spring and the idea of
rebirth. which brings me to our theme for this new
moon and St Bridget's day and Imbolc and how we can celebrate it this
year.
- First, we get our cloth on the eve of St Bridget's day and the
first day of spring and leave it out overnight on the 31st of January in
a place where it feels
right for you. It can be in your garden or maybe a place of sacred ground
in a place that is special to you.
- It is one of my favourite times of
year - everything new and of course, the spring cleaning. I do recall as a
child the spring cleaning was done inside and
out of my home. Growing up, windows were cleaned and opened to let in the
fresh air as the evenings were now getting brighter. It felt the cleaning
of the windows was to let in that light, and letting out the winter
smells of turf and coal, only to learn as I got
older how important that time of spring cleaning was. Something I do
myself in my home and there is a very healing and light feeling about
it.
- So getting back to the eve of St Bridget, a blue
cloth or white cloth was left outside to be blessed by St Bridget
herself. As the story goes, she traveled the land in a mist of healing
energy and poured her healing energy into the cloths.
I was told and learned she was like fire and fires were lit to
celebrate her day. The goddess Brigid, who was evoked in fertility
rites and oversaw poetry, crafts, and prophecy. Bridget was worshipped
by the filid, a class of poets and historians among the Celts of ancient Ireland and Britain.
- There is so much information on
her story which many can research but today I would like to invite you
all to celebrate with me her day and this year she shares it with a new
moon... how wonderful is that!
- So on the eve of st Bridget when you leave out your cloth for blessing also remember the new moon and our new intentions as the new moons are a great time to start anew. Maybe you need to start a new way of life with the changes that have been going on and you can do this by setting intentions by writing them down on a piece of paper and burning on the night of the new moon which will also be the night of St Bridget and Imbolc...
- and of course St Bridget's cross. Make your intentions this year as you weave each rush. To make your St Bridget's cross do this in meditation and at the same time holding the space for all those who need healing or prayers at this time, your family, friends and all who need healing for the higher good of all. Do this with on open heart and then place this cross or crosses you might have made for others on the cloth that you had left out for healing overnight. Again this is cut into strips to give to family, friends and anyone who needs it throughout the year, or years as i still have some from many years that was given to me in my time of need. A healing tradition that has been going on for a long time and will continue for many more years to come.
- Please feel free to post photos of flowers, St Bridget's Cloths and crosses or whatever you feel called to post throughout the day and night of this double event.
NEW MOON
- Now we are on the night of the new moon the 1st of February 2022 in Aquarius
- The new moon is inviting us not only to bring about healing but it is inviting us to dream about our future and make it real.
- It's here to remind us that when we think about where we want to be tomorrow, we must lay down the groundwork for manifesting that desire today.
- So do that by setting your intentions, by writing them down on a piece of paper.
- Things you want to let go of that are holding you back?
- Take a few moments to focus on this and don't rush it.
- Ask yourself the question is this realistic?
- When you are done with your list of things you want to let go of read it aloud.
- Pause
- As there might be some things you might want to add or take away.
- Again pause.
- Now make a list of things you would like to manifest.
- Again take your time and don't rush i.
- Ask yourself the question is this realistic?
- Pause
- And when you are done, read it aloud.
- Again, maybe there are things you might like to add or take away from your list.
- Pause.
- Meditate on this if need be. No need to rush it, and it's perfectly okay to change your mind. There is no right or wrong way to do this. Listening to your inner guidance and how you are feeling will help you to make a choice that feels right for you.
- Now on the night of the new moon and
also St Bridget's day you have the tools to help you to bring your
dreams, new ideas, and new adventures, healing, love and light, into your
world. With the healing cloths of St Bridget and her cross bring the
same
to all who need it, of course, for the highest good of all.
It is about shining your light so others can see in the dark. Wishing others well and healing.

Bernadette Mac in Navan
Had to improvise on St Bridget's Cross. Made it with coloured straws. Laid upon the healing cloth of white and blue.
Large crystals to represent to the new moon, with written intentions carefully thought with a short meditation.
And burned them in my open fire. I felt to bring in a lot of colour. Letting go of the old and embrace the new.
Imbolc blessings to you all tonight. Bernadette mac

Pat shares his insightson the aspects and our intentions for this celebration.... |
OK, so here it comes. I have read a lot but I took 3 screen shots with 3 aspects that seem to prevail and I will share them with you. I also add a few points:
|
2022 - Anne had crosses on her mind as she cooked dinner. |
Marta shares Dana's drawing of Brigid
I think the messages right now are (from various areas, sources, etc.) let go of the old, also old (and good and safe) structures, embrace the new.
Seems like an ongoing thing as of course, this is life, but they seem to be coming in for 2022 specifically.
Which can be a difficult process, but it seems to be heading for good things to come.
Today is about manifesting for the future, visualizing, etc....
and then maybe repeat that on 22.02.22?
Month's Mind for Dana - 21 September 2017
A tradition in Ireland, the Month’s Mind, commemorates someone who has died about 30 days after their passing.
This echoes the Wicca tradition that the soul is journeying for the whole cycle of a moon, about 28 days.

Many of us knew Dana and have enjoyed sharing sacred and powerful ceremonies as well as just times of being together.
Blessings on her life and support and love to her immediate family and friends. |

Nora J ponders a New Way at Longstone Edge
Life has definitely changed with the Covid pandemic. We have all adapted to meeting and not meeting as the virus ebbs and flows through our days.
And now Bernadette asks us to consider a New Way. Perhaps we have already arrived at it without realising?
We support each other in community and yet stay apart. We claim our freedom as individuals whilst acting for the highest good of all.
I thought of the Global Spiritual Wheel... linking into all those known and unknown, seen and unseen. We call it Global and yet we are focussing on Imbolc while, in reality, we are at different stages of the seasons around the world.
Knowing the Universal energies and how they play out in our lives, a New Way will emerge as we travel this cycle of the Wheel.
Brat Bhride - blessing the land every St.Brigid's Eve Remember to put a cloth out on 31st January.
Brigid's Cross - origins, examples.
Candles - Brigid's candle
Sharing a candle to bless each individual with light of Brigit, goddess of fire, to invoke the fire in our lives and in our land, using whatever blessing came to mind such as:
“May the fire of Brigit light your way... May the fire of Brigit warm your heart... May the light of Brigit inspire your mind"
Colour - The country of Ireland is often referred to as her green mantle. In legends Brigid symbolically spreads her mantle over part of Kildare and claims the land for herself and for her church foundation. Those on the land come under her mantle, her protection and it is a blessing to be placed faoi bhrat Bhríde sinn (under Brigid's mantle).
Brigid in Ceremony - symbols for the centre focus could include: Brigit patron of Fire in the Hearth (candles),
the brave and bold leader of Spring (snowdrops), fertility (polished
egg), mysticism (crystals), Christian and pre-Christian (cross) and
healing (Bhrat Bríde).
