As above, so below, bridging the realms.
A red rose indicates love, whereas a yellow one is often taken as a refusal of love.

Prayer for a rose:
Praise to the roses, full of beauty.
Blessed are they amongst the flowers of the earth. Blessed is their
aroma, their colour and their form, for they are without compare.
Praise to the roses, full of joy.
Blessed symbols of love, compassion and grace. Queen of flowers pray with us now and at the time of our death.

Love, balance and hope...
were feelings that I felt very much on Sunday. Blessings to you all on this autumn equniox. Bernadette M. 2021 - Labyrinth on Donabate
Rose, symbol of accepting the inner beauty even though there may be thorns.
In preparation for the celebration I went and collected a bag of bright red leaves to define a circle. I had the bag collected and was back in the house when I got the really strong impression to go and get a rose and include it as a secret symbol. The rose has a thorny stem but beautiful and fragrant flowers. It struck me as a symbol of acceptance. We have to accept the rose without judgement to accept both its beauty and fragrance whilst it is supported on its prickly stem. One will not function without the other... it must represent the blossoming heart and all that we are, the bits we love and are proud of, but also the painful bits that made us who we are. Accepting this duality frees us from blame, guilt, anger and self harm. 2023 - Chanting Ohm for Peace - Tara

Meditation with a rose quartz crystal
Set up a space in your home or out in your garden, whatever is more convenient for you.
With a rose quartz crystal and a flower (ideally a rose) of your choice sit quietly and tune into that inner voice within you.
Listen as you bring your hands to your Heart and fill them with love and healing from your heart chakra.
Send healing to all those who need it in our world, to our family and
friends, mother nature and the animal kingdom for the highest good of
all.
Like the flower the crystal signifies love and compassion. It is also known as the heart stone.
Preserving & Painting
To preserve the roses you can air dry them, by hanging them upside down, or press them between paper liners under a heavy weight. Some say you can microwave them or cover them with sand in a bucket.
Rose petals are edible so you can add them to jellies, meals as a garnish, etc. Be aware that some may have been chemically treated so do check your source. They should be fresh, not faded or wilted, as these can taste bitter.
To make pictures of roses use a bunch of celery. Cut across the stalks. Dip the cut ends in paint and press onto paper.
