An Tobar - The Well

Snippets from our Meditation Diary 2010
Grieg's music welcomed us into the Oratory, a lamp shone in the centre beside a flask of water, all on a purple cloth. We stood and relaxed from head to toe. The guided visualisation led us to the well at An Tobar, then we descended via a ladder into a chamber of green light and a still mirror-like central pool. We sat beside the water in silent meditation...
Everyone brought hard-boiled eggs. In the centre was an empty basket, 3 chocolate eggs, a fluffy rabbit, a candle, angel cards and daffodils. We held our eggs and put our intentions for the coming year into them. Then we decorated them with colouring pens...
We imaged a fountain at the bottom of Flower Hill in Navan flowing with harmony and peace. This energy spread over the town, road by road, then out over the surrounding countryside, Ireland, in all directions over the world...
we have also meditated on....

The circle of healing is profound. It provides an opportunity to voice our blessings and healings for ourselves, friends and relations, the wider community, projects, situations and anything else where we want to place positive intentions. Below is the healing/manifestation box tied with a bhrat bhride from Tara.

This is a great way to start off the week

If you are unable to attend in person, but would like to have input into the healing circle please visit the Who We Are section for contact details.
If you have a favourite meditation that you would like to share with others please come along to one of the meetings and tell us about it.
CHARITY MEDITATION - Monday 7 DECEMBER 2009
for NavJeevan Village near Mumbai in India
NavJeevan (meaning 'New Life') dates back to 1994 when a group of youth set about to interact with the children of the women who ply the world's oldest trade in a sprawling ghetto called Kamathipura, Mumbai. The idea simply was to engage the kids constructively and thereby spare them the terror of witnessing the sordid scenes in the dingy alleys and bylanes in the area. Over the years NavJeevan gradually stepped up its involvement and today has assumed total responsibility for the education and upkeep of a number of children in the NavJeevan Village.
The Village sent this lovely card as a thank you for your donations to the project in 2008

The Bile Tortan near Ardbreacan
From: Survivals in Belief Among the Celts, by George Henderson, [1911]
"The Bile Tortan stood in Magh Tortan in Meath, near Ardbreacan, and was blown down in the reign of the sons of Aedh Slaine, about the middle of the seventh century. This tree was one of the three wonderful trees of Eirinn, and had stood at the time of the Milesian conquest, more than a thousand years."
"Bile Tortan, Eo Rossa, Craebh Mughna, Craebh Dathi, Bile Uisnigh were five ancient trees which sprang up in Erin in the reign of Conaing Begeglach (Anno Mundi 4388).Conaing held a certain assembly at Tara . . . and they saw coming towards them from the west a man of wonderful size, carrying in his hand a branch of a tree bearing apples, nuts, acorns, and berries. . . . He told them he had come from the place of the sun's rising in the east to the place of its going down in the west, to know why it had stood still for a day, and having obtained the cause of this irregularity that he was now on his return again to the east. He shook the produce of this branch on the ground; and these being taken up by various persons and planted in various localities, produced these wonderful trees which were all blown down in the seventh century.
The Bile Tortan near Ardbreacan, in the Co. Meath, was ash.
The Eo Rossa near Leith-Ghleann (Leithlin) was a yew tree, and became the property of St. Molaise of Leith-Ghlenn, from which St. Moling obtained as much of it as made shingles for his Duirthech or Oratory, at Tech Moling, now St. Mullin's, on the river Barrow in Co. Carlow, and which was built for him by . . . Goban Saor. According to an Irish life of St. Moling . . . the Craebh Mughna was oak, and stood near Bealach Mughna in Magh Ailbhe, in the southern part of Co. Kildare. The Craebh Dathi was ash, and stood in the district of Fir Bile (now Ferbil), to which it gave name, in Co. Westmeath. The Craebh Uisnigh was ash, and stood on the hill of Uisnech, in Co. Westmeath."

The moon revolves around the earth.
The earth revolves around the sun.
The changing relative positions create the cycles and seasons on earth.
and on a day to day basis this is what is happening now....

Global Consciousness project:
The colour on this dot is constantly changing in a live global experiment on world consciousness. The more Coherent the collective thoughts of humanity are the reder the dot. The more dispersed consciousness is the bluer the dot. Green is neutral.
Global Consciousness Project studys interactions of consciousness with physical systems. The GCP has been collecting data from a global network of random event generators since August, 1998. The network currently maintains about 65 sites around the world running custom software that reads the output of physical random number generators and records a trial (sum of 200 bits) once every second,24/7 continuously over months and years.
It is an experiment that studys the effect of conscioussness on randomness. The random numbers generated remain random until some significant event takes place on the planet when massive deviations in data are seen. The randomness moves towards coherence and patterns emerge. This demonstrates that when a large number of people are thinking about the same thing, the increased coherence of their consciousness skews the selection of random numbers generated by the computer. Peoples minds seem to be entrained and something in the nature of the universe shifts. Significant deviations were seen during the 11th September attacks, New years eve, earthquakes, the Kirsk disaster, Funeral of princess Dianna, various global meditation days etc! http://noosphere.princeton.edu/index.html
